Dear Beddington Heights Families, As we wrap up another fantastic week at Beddington Heights, we’re continually impressed by our students’ curiosity, creativity, and kindness. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership as we look forward to more exciting learning opportunities in the weeks ahead! I have a few additional updates today: Swimming Update I’m excited to share that we’ve secured funding from the insurance company managing our gym floor project to cover the cost of swimming this year. This means swimming will be free for all students! For families who have already paid swimming fees, those payments will automatically be applied to any outstanding fees throughout the school year, such as lunchroom fees or future field trips. If any credit remains at the end of June, a refund check will be issued. If you have any questions about this credit, feel free to contact me by replying to this message. Staffing Update We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Fiona Sun as a full-time member of our lunchroom team! Over the past three months, Ms. Sun has been an invaluable part of our community in a casual role, and we are delighted that she will now be joining us on a permanent basis. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610. Take care, Steve Ross Principal, Beddington Heights School Key Dates:

Please visit this link to learn more about how to volunteer with BHS this year! Fun Lunch | Coco Brooks December 12th (Deadline to order was yesterday) Our next Fun Lunch will be December 12th from Coco Brooks. You can order a Fun Lunch for your child at healthyhunger.ca. Deadline for ordering is Saturday, December 7th. Popcorn Sales This year, Parent Council will be selling popcorn for students every Thursday. All proceeds will support BHS families in need during the Winter Break/Christmas season. New this year, popcorn orders will be made through Healthy Hunger, so students won’t need to bring money to school. Families can also pre-order for multiple weeks if they prefer. To order, please visit HealthyHunger.ca. The ordering deadline each week is the Saturday before each Thursday. Student Drop Off We kindly ask all parents to remain outside the school during student drop-off times. While we appreciate your care and involvement, we encourage you to drop your children off outside and allow them to enter the school independently. This important step helps students build confidence and develop independence in a variety of settings. Thank you for your understanding and support! Swimming | Dec. 9-12 (Grades 1-3) and Dec. 16-19 (Grades 4-6) We’ve moved our annual swimming lessons, originally scheduled for March, to an earlier date to make the most of the time while our gym is out of service. You will have received field trip forms for your child’s participation. Please complete and return these forms promptly to help the Thornhill Pool staff prepare for our students. CBE and School Fee Waivers At Beddington Heights School, we are committed to ensuring that every student can participate in all school activities, regardless of financial circumstances. If you are having difficulty paying school fees, we offer fee waivers to assist you. Please see the attached document for more information on accessing waivers. Fee Waivers
