Dear Beddington Heights Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend as we settle into the Autumn season!

I have two additional updates today:

Compound Space Off Limits During Instructional Time

While our gym is under repair, we are using the compound as our teaching space for Phys. Ed. If you're picking up your child before 2:35, we kindly ask that you wait on the sidewalk outside the compound until the bell rings. This helps us maintain a focused environment for students and avoids distractions during their classes. Thank you for your understanding.

Emergency Lunches | Brown Bagging

When students forget their lunch, we offer extra food provided by Brown Bagging for emergency situations. Please complete this survey to let us know which foods your child can have during these times and which foods you prefer they avoid.

Halloween Dance | Update

Unfortunately, we will not be able to host our annual Halloween Family Dance this year as our Parent Council was unable to secure an alternate location. We are disappointed, but we look forward to bringing the event back next year!

In place of the dance, we will be celebrating Halloween Costume Day on October 31st. Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes or dress in orange and black.

Costume Guidelines:

- Costumes must allow students to fully participate in all activities, including PE (no inflatable costumes, please).

- No masks or face coverings (face paint is okay).

- Costumes should be elementary school-appropriate (no weapons or gory costumes).

School Photos Are Ready | Message from Lifetouch

To order, log in to your account on mylifetouch.ca or create an account using your student's student ID number.  Paper proofs will also be sent to your home in the near future.

All families can also log on and order a FREE digital Pictures2Protect Card. More about the Pictures2Protect program here.

Staffing Update

We are excited to announce that Adele Bergen has accepted the full-time Educational Assistant position at BHS. Mrs. Bergen has already started transitioning into this role and has been a wonderful addition to our team!

We are also happy to welcome Ms. Wells back to our school to teach an additional morning Kindergarten class. Ms. Wells has been supporting our afternoon Kindergarten class for the past month, and we are fortunate to have such a skilled educator joining us full-time!

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Take care,

Steve Ross

Principal, Beddington Heights School
