Hello BHS Parents and Guardians

Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff that shared their reflections and thoughts concerning our Truth and Reconciliation Commitment for this school year. The themes of land, relationship, story, cultural learning, and respect were common in your reflections. Authentic, land-based learning and learning from Elders, knowledge keepers, artists, and Indigenous authors were prominent ideas for our work moving forward. I truly value the thoughts and reflections you shared, and I hope that our commitment is something that all members of the community will see coming to life throughout the year.

I hope that you and your children have noticed that our compound was finally swept! Thanks to our coworkers at CBE grounds, we will hopefully have fewer skinned knees and hands. Thank you to the parents who shared their concern about safety at BHS – your voices matter!

 Have a great weekend,

Ms. Clancy
