Popcorn Sales | Update 

We will be selling off our remaining stock of popcorn for a discounted rate of $1 a bag all week including Play Day until we are out of bags!  

Play Day 

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled Play Day on Wednesday, June 24, but we can’t do it without the help of our wonderful parent volunteers! The event runs from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., with volunteers arriving at 8:30 a.m. to receive a package for the morning. If you’re able to help, and have not already signed up, please send an email to Mrs. Sterne at sjsterne@cbe.ab.ca. Thank you for being a part of making this day a success, we truly couldn’t do it without you!  

 BHS Community Garden | Summer help wanted! 

 We are looking to round up some help to care for our school garden space over the course of the summer. If you are around and willing to help out for a short shift, please sign up for a shift on the attached form. Details for those who sign up will be shared soon. Thanks in advance for helping our garden grow! 

Report Cards 

The June report card reflects the summative achievement of each student through the final months – February through to the end of June for this school year.  These will be available online in your MyCBE Account from June 25 until July 26, 2026. 

If you have questions or concerns about your child’s report card, please contact your child’s teacher by email or by phone, by noon on June 29. 

Class Size Reduction Funding 

We are pleased to inform you that our school has been allocated one additional teaching position for the 2026–27 school year through the Government of Alberta’s Class Size Reduction Grant. 

This grant funds teaching positions that support improved learning conditions in kindergarten to Grade 9 classrooms. 

This funding is specifically intended to help reduce class sizes in core subject areas (English Language Arts/French Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies), with priority given to schools experiencing the greatest class size pressures. 

This decision was made using system-wide data that considers: 

• The number of classes exceeding provincial class size benchmarks 
• Projected enrolment and class organization 
• School programming and grade configuration 

Our goal is to ensure students benefit from: 

• Increased teacher attention 
• Improved classroom learning environments 
• Greater support for diverse learning needs 

We remain committed to supporting strong learning environments for all students and using our resources thoughtfully and strategically. 

26-27 Beddington Heights School Staff 

We’ve completed spring staffing for next year and are pleased to share our grade team configurations. 

Our teachers work closely together to ensure consistent, high-quality learning experiences across all classes in a particular grade. As part of this process, we do not accept requests for specific teachers or classmates, as class placement considers many factors to support student success. 

We will share our staffing configuration below. Students will receive an email from their new teacher by August 28.

Library Book Returns 

As we approach the end of the school year, we are beginning to collect all library books from students. We ask that you please take a moment to check at home and return any library books your child may still have. Returning books helps us ensure our collection is ready for students again next year.
