Dear Beddington Heights Families,

We've had a fantastic start to the 2024-25 school year! On Thursday morning, all students arrived safely and smoothly, ready to meet their teachers. It's been wonderful having students back in the building, and we're excited for the year ahead. Just a reminder, the school will be closed on Monday for Labour Day, so there will be no classes.

I have a few additional items to share with you:

Communication – What to expect

Each week, you'll receive two messages from the school:

  • Fridays: Your child’s teacher will send a message with important information specific to their class or grade.
  • Sundays (or Mondays on long weekends): The Principal’s Weekly Update will cover information relevant to the entire school.

We make an effort not to duplicate information in these messages, so it's important to read both the teacher’s message and the Principal’s Weekly Update to stay informed about what's happening at the school.

Hug and Go Zones

Please note that Bermuda Drive and Bermuda Road on the school side of the streets are “Hug and Go” zones from the lamppost (marked with a Hug and Go sign) around the corner and up to the bus zone. If you would like to stay and watch your child until they enter the school, please park somewhere outside of this zone to allow other families to quickly and safely drop their children off for school.

Gymnasium Update

The gym is currently unavailable due to flooding that occurred in early July. We're in the process of replacing the gym floor, and the work should be finished by the end of October. Until then, the gym will be closed. PE classes will be held outdoors when possible, and indoors in classrooms if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Lunch Changes

We have made some adjustments to the lunch times this year. The updated times for lunches are:

Student Code of Conduct

As a school, it is our responsibility to ensure a positive learning environment for all students. It is our responsibility to ensure that staff and students are provided with a caring, welcoming, respectful, and safe learning environment. The Student Code of Conduct outlines these principles and identifies the roles and expectations related to student conduct.

If you have any questions or need assistance as we begin the school year, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.
