Dear Beddington Heights Families,
As we approach next week with plenty of Halloween treats, I’d like to remind families that balanced nutrition is important for supporting students’ learning and focus. To help everyone have a successful week, limiting Halloween treats to one snack during the school day would benefit learning.
Additionally, we have a shortened schedule coming up, with Fall Break beginning on Friday, November 8th. There will be no school for students from November 8th through Wednesday, November 13th, with classes resuming on Thursday, November 14th. Let’s make the most of the week before the break!
I have some additional updates today:
Family Pizza Night | Dominoes Hunterhorn
Order from Domino's in Hunterhorn this Thursday for Family Pizza Night! 10% of all proceeds from online and phone orders will go towards supporting Beddington Heights families in need this Christmas. Treat your family to pizza and help make a difference for BHS families!
Lost and Found
Please come by the school to retrieve any items your child may have misplaced so far this school year. All items remaining will be donated after 3 pm on Wednesday, November 6th.
Remembrance Day Assembly Update
Our Remembrance Day Assembly will be conducted online in classrooms due to our ongoing lack of a large gathering space with the gym under construction. Due to FOIP issues, we are unfortunately not able to share this presentation publicly with families.
Child and Youth Well-Being, Family & Caregiver Fall Series
The Calgary Board of Education (CBE), in collaboration with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Recovery Alberta, has developed a parenting series that includes both live and on-demand sessions. The attached document provides details on current offerings available to parents. Topics include Screen Time: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, Building Resilience in Today’s Youth, and Understanding Autism and ADHD to Promote Long-Term Success. These sessions, along with other valuable resources, may be especially helpful for Beddington Heights School families. Please see the attachment for access and more information. Winter Concert/ Celebration of Learning
Due to continued delays with the gym floor replacement, we must cancel the Grade K/4/6 Winter Celebration of Learning originally planned for December 5th. Instead, Kindergarten students will now join Grades 2 and 5 for an afternoon and evening Celebration of Learning on February 27th, while Grades 4 and 6 will join Grades 1 and 3 for a Celebration of Learning on May 1st.

We are excited to welcome 3 student teachers from the University of Lethbridge starting tomorrow. They will be working in the following classrooms:
