Fun Lunch | Edo – February 20th (Deadline to order is February 15th)
You can order a Fun Lunch for your child at healthyhunger.ca. Deadline for ordering is Saturday, February 15th.
Popcorn Sales
This year, Parent Council will be selling popcorn for students every Thursday. All proceeds will support BHS families in need during the Winter Break/Christmas season. New this year, popcorn orders will be made through Healthy Hunger, so students won’t need to bring money to school. Families can also pre-order for multiple weeks if they prefer.
To order, please visit HealthyHunger.ca. The ordering deadline each week is the Saturday before each Thursday.
Accessing Assessments
We understand that some families have encountered difficulties accessing their child’s grades on PowerSchool this year. Please note that the PowerSchool App does not display assessment scores. To view your child’s progress, you will need to log in through a web browser. For step-by-step instructions on accessing all posted assessments from your child’s teacher, please refer to the attached guide or instructional video.
Spirit Day | February 21
On Friday, February 21, it's Wear All One Colour Day—a chance to dress head-to-toe in your favorite color. Whether you go all-out in blue, rock a full red outfit, or shine in yellow from top to bottom, the choice is yours! The more creative, the better!
Pajama Family Dance | March 13
Join us for a fun-filled Pajama Dance hosted by the Parent Association on March 13th, from 6-8pm at Beddington Heights School! It's a family dance, so students must attend with a parent, guardian, or an adult family friend. This dance is for current Beddington Heights students and their siblings.
Alien Inline | Physical Education Residency for Grade 1-6 Students
We are thrilled to announce that Alien Inline will be visiting our school on March 19-20 and again from March 31-April 4. Thanks to the generous support of our Parent Council, the cost for this fantastic program will be subsidized, and it will only be $10 per student. The fee will be uploaded to your MyCBE account tomorrow for all grade 1-6 students.
Alien Inline is a dynamic program that teaches students the fundamentals of inline skating. Through fun and engaging lessons, students will learn essential skills such as balance, coordination, and agility. This program not only promotes physical fitness but also encourages confidence and teamwork.
Learn and Share | School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. During our most recent School Council meeting we shared information about school planning and asked those in attendance to share their perspectives.
- We covered…
- School planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget and school fees
- How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
- How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
- School fees and why they are necessary
- Families are requested to provide feedback by…
- Sharing your perspectives through an online survey open from now until the start of Spring Break.
Families who missed the council meeting can access the presentation here. We invite families to provide input into these items to support planning for next school year through the survey linked here. If you have any questions, please reach out to either Mrs. Tipper or myself.
