Dear Beddington Heights Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break and is feeling refreshed as we head into the final stretch of the school year!

I want to take a moment to thank those who have been making a greater effort to ensure safe drop-offs in the morning. I have noticed a significant improvement in crosswalk usage, safe driving, and students dropped off in designated areas—your efforts are truly appreciated!

Now, our next focus is arriving on time. On average, up to 60 students arrive between 8:00 and 8:25 a.m., which causes disruptions to learning. This is the equivalent to attending a morning meeting at work where 4–6 people arrive late every day—this would not be acceptable in a professional setting. Punctuality is a critical life skill, and developing strong habits now will benefit students well beyond their school years.

To help set them up for success, please ensure students arrive by 7:50 a.m. so they can enter with their classmates and start their day smoothly. Supervision is available starting at 7:45 a.m., so you are welcome to drop off your child at that time, knowing they will be safely supervised.

Thank you for your ongoing support in fostering a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for all students!

I have a few additional notices this week:

Celebrate Culture Day | Friday April 4th

We invite students to celebrate the rich diversity of our school community by:

  • Wearing attire that represents their cultural heritage.
  • Sharing traditions such as music, dance, cuisine (note: food cannot be shared due to CBE policies), and celebrations.
  • Exploring the meaning or history behind their name (parents are encouraged to discuss this with their child beforehand).

Join us for a day of learning, respect, and appreciation of the cultures that make BHS special!

Alien Inline

A reminder that Alien Inline skating residency will continue for the remainder of this week. Students are encouraged to bring approved helmets for their sessions this week.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Popcorn Sales

This year, Parent Council will be selling popcorn for students every Thursday. All proceeds will support BHS families in need during the Winter Break/Christmas season. New this year, popcorn orders will be made through Healthy Hunger, so students won’t need to bring money to school. Families can also pre-order for multiple weeks if they prefer.

To order, please visit HealthyHunger.ca. The ordering deadline each week is the Saturday before each Thursday.
