Dear Beddington Heights Families,

As we enter June, we have many important events coming up including bottle drives, an information session on nutrition for kids, our Parent Council Casino (PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN- We have 50+ slots to fill!) and our Kindergarten Orientation among other things. Please see below for more information.

I have a few additional notices this week:

Staffing Update

After many years, the majority of which were spent at Beddington, Mrs. Anderson has announced her retirement at the end of this school year.

Mrs. Anderson has dedicated her career to supporting students (and occasionally children of former students) with care, energy, and heart. Over the next few weeks, she will be guiding her final group of students, just as she has done so thoughtfully for many years.

Please join us in thanking her, sharing a kind word, or wishing her well as she begins this exciting next chapter.

Thank you, Mrs. Anderson. You will be missed!

Volunteers

New this year, the cost of Police Information Checks is being covered for those requiring it. Please visit this link to learn more about how to volunteer with BHS this year!

Fun Lunch | Panago Pizza on June 19 (Deadline to order is June 14)

You can order a Fun Lunch for your child at healthyhunger.ca. This upcoming month we were able to provide nine students with a Fun Lunch who do not typically receive one due to generous donations of Beddington Heights families! Thank you for your support!

Upcoming Casino | Message from Parent Council

We have a number of upcoming volunteer opportunities, including our biggest fundraiser, the casino. This is the major source of funding for resources and activities for students of BHS. Field trips, residency programs, supplemental classroom materials are all paid for with money from this fundraiser. No police clearance is required for the casino and anyone can volunteer (including all of your friends and family). Please spread the word to help our fundraising effort.

Thanks as always for your support of BHS programming. Please find all sign-up links below.

Bottle Drive for Grade 6 Farewell

The Grade 6 Farewell Committee will be hosting a bottle drive on this Saturday, June 7 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Families are encouraged to drop off bottles and cans at the school parking lot during this time to help support the farewell celebrations.

If you’re unable to attend on Saturday, bottles can also be dropped off on Friday, June 6 during school hours.

All funds raised will go toward making the Grade 6 Farewell a special and memorable event. Our Grade 6 students have been positive role models and leaders in our school community, and we’re excited to celebrate their achievements.

Thank you to the Grade 6 Farewell Committee for all your hard work and dedication!

Volunteers Needed for Grade 6 Farewell – June 25

We are looking for volunteers to help make our Grade 6 Farewell celebration a fun and memorable event. The farewell and dance will take place on the morning of Wednesday, June 25, and we need extra hands to help run games and support activities during the dance.

If you are able to help, please contact Brooklyn Shill at brooklynshill@gmail.com.

Your time and support will go a long way in creating a special send-off for our amazing Grade 6 students. Thank you in advance!
