Dear Beddington Heights Families,

On Friday, it was wonderful to see so many families and students gather for our garden event. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Quigley and the Gardening Club for their incredible work in beautifying our school grounds and creating rich outdoor learning opportunities. Events like these reflect the strength of our school community and the value we place on learning in connection with nature.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge that Eid al-Adha has just passed. To all families who celebrated, I hope it was a joyful and meaningful time with your loved ones.

I have a few additional notices this week:

Free Calgary Stampeder Tickets

We’re still waiting on the tickets for the June 21st Stampeders game, but I’ll be sure to distribute them as soon as they arrive. It was wonderful to see so many BHS families enjoy the game this past weekend, and we’re looking forward to another great turnout on the 21st!

At this point, we anticipate being able to accommodate all ticket requests that have been submitted. If you’re still interested in attending — even if you already received tickets for the June 7th game — just send me a message. We’ll do our best to fulfill as many requests as possible.

Leadership Club Final Spirit Day | June 20

On Thursday, June 20, we’re celebrating Career Day! Students are invited to dress up as their future career — whether they dream of being a scientist, artist, mechanic, teacher, or anything in between. It's a fun opportunity for students to explore their interests and share their aspirations with the class!

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Take care,

Steve Ross

Principal, Beddington Heights School

Volunteers

New this year, the cost of Police Information Checks is being covered for those requiring it. Please visit this link to learn more about how to volunteer with BHS this year!

Fun Lunch | Panago Pizza on June 19 (Deadline to order is June 14)

You can order a Fun Lunch for your child at healthyhunger.ca. This upcoming month we were able to provide nine students with a Fun Lunch who do not typically receive one due to generous donations of Beddington Heights families! Thank you for your support!

Upcoming Casino | Message from Parent Council

We have a number of upcoming volunteer opportunities, including our biggest fundraiser, the casino. This is the major source of funding for resources and activities for students of BHS. Field trips, residency programs, supplemental classroom materials are all paid for with money from this fundraiser. No police clearance is required for the casino and anyone can volunteer (including all of your friends and family). Please spread the word to help our fundraising effort.

Thanks as always for your support of BHS programming. Please find all sign-up links below.

Volunteers Needed for Grade 6 Farewell – June 25

We are looking for volunteers to help make our Grade 6 Farewell celebration a fun and memorable event. The farewell and dance will take place on the morning of Wednesday, June 25, and we need extra hands to help run games and support activities during the dance.

If you are able to help, please contact Brooklyn Shill at brooklynshill@gmail.com.

Your time and support will go a long way in creating a special send-off for our amazing Grade 6 students. Thank you in advance!

Popcorn Sales | Update

As we move into June, there are no more popcorn days through Healthy Hunger. We will be selling all remaining bags of popcorn in our supply (about 150 bags) on Tuesday and Thursday while supplies last. Students can buy bags for $2.50 at Mr. Berry’s room during their lunch period.
