Dear Beddington Heights Families,

We’ve had a wonderful week at BHS as students continue to settle into their new learning routines. We truly appreciate the support from families in helping students arrive on time and enter with their classmates each morning. This sets them up for success and helps minimize disruptions for their peers.

I hope your children enjoyed taking part in the Terry Fox Run on Friday and learning more about Terry’s inspiring legacy throughout the week. Our Beddington Heights fundraising page will remain open until the end of the month as we continue working toward our $1000 goal! A big thank you goes out to Mrs. Young, Mrs. Sterne, and Mrs. Wu for their outstanding efforts in bringing this event to life for our school community.

Meet the Teacher | Thursday Night

Join us on Thursday evening any time between 6-7pm for our annual Meet the Teacher event. Families are welcome to tour the school and visit their child's classroom. Teachers will share information about the upcoming year and be available for any questions. However, since it's still early in the school year, and students are just now settling into their routines, this time is not used to discuss individual student progress.

In addition to classroom visits, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open in the Learning Commons, and computers will be available for families to complete required forms such as demographic verification, volunteer registration and consents. We look forward to seeing as many families as possible! Please refer to the attached document for more school-wide information!

Emergency Drills

This week, we held our first evacuation drill of the year, and students did an excellent job exiting the building efficiently, safely, and quietly. Each year, we complete six evacuation drills and two lockdown drills to ensure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency. These practice drills are an important part of keeping our school community safe.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Action required | Complete Online Forms by Sept. 15

Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians / independent students are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. For families who have not yet completed these annual forms, please submit the Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms in SchoolEngage for your child by Monday, Sept. 15. These forms are required every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. We recognize certain families have already completed Demographic Verification and Annual Authorization forms for their children for the 2025-26 school year and we thank you for taking time to submit them.

Details of the online forms found in SchoolEngage include:

Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This required form is an Alberta Education requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.

Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.

Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:

  • School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.
  • Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.
  • Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties

SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, register to volunteer etc.

If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

To complete these forms:

  1. sign in to your MyCBE account
  2. click on the SchoolEngage icon
  3. select the form
  4. complete or review and update the form
  5. click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school
  6. repeat steps 3-5 for each form
