Dear Beddington Heights Families,

I have a few notices to share with you as we head into a shortened week (there is no school on Thursday/Friday (Teacher’s Convention) or Monday (Family Day):

Family Pizza Night @ Dominoes Hunterhorn | Thursday February 13th

Order from Domino's in Hunterhorn this Thursday for Family Pizza Night! 10% of all proceeds from online and phone orders will go towards supporting Beddington Heights families in need next Christmas. Treat your family to pizza and help make a difference for BHS families! Flyers for discounts will come home with students this week!

Spirit Day | February 21

On Friday, February 21, it's Wear All One Colour Day—a chance to dress head-to-toe in your favorite color. Whether you go all-out in blue, rock a full red outfit, or shine in yellow from top to bottom, the choice is yours! The more creative, the better!

Pajama Family Dance | March 13

Join us for a fun-filled Pajama Dance hosted by the Parent Association on March 13th, from 6-8pm at Beddington Heights School! It's a family dance, so students must attend with a parent, guardian, or an adult family friend. This dance is for current Beddington Heights students and their siblings.

Alien Inline | Physical Education Residency for Grade 1-6 Students

We are thrilled to announce that Alien Inline will be visiting our school on March 19-20 and again from March 31-April 4. Thanks to the generous support of our Parent Council, the cost for this fantastic program will be subsidized, and it will only be $10 per student. The fee will be uploaded to your MyCBE account tomorrow for all grade 1-6 students.

Alien Inline is a dynamic program that teaches students the fundamentals of inline skating. Through fun and engaging lessons, students will learn essential skills such as balance, coordination, and agility. This program not only promotes physical fitness but also encourages confidence and teamwork.

Fun Lunch Donations

A heartfelt thank you to all the families for their generous fun lunch donations! Because of your kindness, we were able to provide a fun lunch for seven students this month who would normally not receive one. Your support truly makes a difference!

Learn and Share | School Planning

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. During our most recent School Council meeting we shared information about school planning and asked those in attendance to share their perspectives.

  1. We covered…
    1. School planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget and school fees
    2. How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
    3. How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
    4. School fees and why they are necessary
  2. Families are requested to provide feedback by…
    1. Sharing your perspectives through an online survey open from now until the start of Spring Break.

Families who missed the council meeting can access the presentation here. We invite families to provide input into these items to support planning for next school year through the survey linked here. If you have any questions, please reach out to either Mrs. Tipper or myself.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Take care,

Steve Ross

Principal, Beddington Heights School
