Principal's Weekly Update | Nov 17, 2023

I hope everyone had a great fall break with family last week, and to those who celebrated Diwali during the break, may the festival of lights bring you prosperity, happiness, and unity.

I have a few additional items to share with you this week:

Parent Teacher Interviews | Next Week

The booking system (through MyCBE Account) is now open for booking Parent Teacher Interviews. Please see the recurring messages section at the bottom of this email for information on how to book an interview with your child’s teacher.

Spirit Day | Friday, December 1st

Our Leadership Club will be promoting a school spirit day for all BHS students. Students are encouraged to come dressed in their favourite sports jersey, or favourite team colours on Friday, December 1st.

Central Fee Waiver

No child is ever denied access to an education in The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) because of an inability to pay. If you can’t afford the fees, there are several ways to qualify for a central fee waiver.

Approved applications will have the following fees (if applicable) waived for the school year:

  • Transportation
  • Lunch Supervision
  • Student Supplies

The CBE aligns with federal and provincial guidelines when assessing waiver applications. Information on how to qualify can be found at the bottom section of this message.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and if you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.

Take care,

Steve Ross
