Principal's Weekly Update | Nov 8, 2023
|
I want to wish everyone an amazing fall break as we move into our first ever fall break as a traditional calendar school. There will be no school for students from now until November 14th. Students will return to school at 8am on November 15th. I have a few additional items to share with you this week: Remembrance Day As Canadians, we recognize Remembrance Day every November 11th at 11 a.m. It marks the cease-fire of the First World War and on this day, we remember and honour all those who have served in defence of our nation. Today, as a school, we paused to remember those who have made, and continue to make, personal sacrifices so that we may continue to live in a nation where we are free to be who we chose to be. Thank you to the students that participated in our ceremony today. We are so proud of the work done to honour our veterans and current Canadians in service of our country. A special thank you is in order for Mrs. Diduch, Mr. Lancée, Mr. Beechey, Ms. Watson and Mrs. Schwarz for the work they put in planning and preparing our students for their performances today.
Parent Teacher Interviews | November 23 & 24 We will be hosting parent teacher interviews in just over two weeks offering both in-person and online options. More information on how to book an Interview will be available next week prior to the booking system opening up next Thursday. Interviews will be scheduled as follows:
Lockdown Drill On Monday afternoon our school participated in a “lockdown” drill as part of our emergency preparedness protocols. Students did a great job of staying silent and congregating in a safe space in their classroom. As a school we complete 2 lock down drills each year to practice in the event of an unforeseen circumstance.
Fun Lunch | Mucho Burrito Our next Fun Lunch will be Mucho Burrito on November 30th. Families can order a fun lunch for their child through healthyhunger.ca. Families can choose between a variety of burritos and quesadillas! Orders must be submitted prior to November 24th.
I hope everyone has a great fall break, and if you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6610.
